A shared data layer for the whole campus
When buildings, sensors and specialist systems share a common structure, information can support operations, research and new services.

Smart Campus NMBU connects building information modelling (BIM), sensors and specialist systems in an independent data layer with standardised application programming interfaces (APIs). The platform puts real-time data into the context of buildings, floors, rooms and technical systems.
From sources to context
Building management systems, retrofitted sensors, energy data and occupancy information come from different systems. In the data layer, they are linked to a shared model based on open standards and stable identities.
This provides a standardised interface for new applications, visualisations and analyses. New buildings and services can be added without rebuilding the underlying structure.
A platform that can be shared
NMBU’s architecture and working methods can be transferred to other campuses and property portfolios. The aim is for experience, models and integration patterns to be developed further together, rather than for everyone to start from scratch.
